Last thing you'll ever read…again
Ubun-what?
Yes I’m writing this blog in Firefox…and I’m hating every keystroke, it just looks and feel…WRONG.
Anywho, it’s rare that I blog more than once a day but I guess I just feel like it.
Don’t you just hate it when things go wrong? The thing with Linux is that I have no idea what to do when something goes wrong, I don’t know what is wrong or how I can fix it. I guess the fact that most of the software aren’t OFFICIAL or at least "stable" may be the reason I shouldn’t mess with some things but meh, I like to experiment. Seriously, if I have to format my linux again to get this buggered thing working, I will.
Basically, Windows "UI" is…rather "primitive" compared to the ones offered by the Linux community…HOWEVER, Aero finally has "caught up" in a sense that it supports some features of Linux that was supported two years ago…The only up side is that you can use Aero with no side-effects whatsoever. Linux have MANY, MANY different UI customisations that you can use. I only know around 5 atm…but I’m sure there are heaps more. First is the default UI supplied by the OS. Now this is useable, but it’s not really "cool" and is pretty plain and boring. Why would you want to make your OS cool and shnazzy you ask? Well, for one, it looks FO SHIZZLE. Second, with the right customisations you can improve productivity. I guess that’s what I look for in everything, how to do something in a shorter, more efficient manner with minimal effort.
Currently I’ve tried basic Compiz which also comes with Ubuntu and also Beryl. I just realised today that Beryl is no longer being developed however, support still continues. In other words, if there’s a bug they’ll fix it but apart from that it’s pretty much dead. So as I was googling around I found this thing called Compiz fusion which is a fusion of both Compiz and Beryl. Awesome! But it’s pretty buggy. (At least they say so). So yeah…I installed it to realise I only have 1 workstation instead of the 4 I originally had…so that makes me a sad panda
So yes, I’m now seeking help…and I can either…go back to Beryl…or I can reformat my Linux in hoping that it fixed everything
Ahaha. This is such a pain. But at least I’m learning
Who woulda thought computing could be so much fun!!! Ahahaha. I guess this reminds me of like Year 4. I’m getting more and more attached to my ubuntu.
