Last thing you'll ever read…again
Oh the Vanity!
Facebook Vanity Links have been up for around 30 minutes now. I have my own vanity link
www.facebook.com/john.jiang
Whilst I’m here I might as well talk about things like OpenID and Gravatar.
OpenID is great. It means I can log into supported sites with my gmail account! Sites like wordpress.com and stackoverflow.com supports OpenID. The idea is great! You also have Facebook connect that does the same thing. I think Amazon also has a similar service also.
The other problem is…avatars. I have soo many accounts on the Internet that supports the use of avatars, I can’t possibly keep track of them all! Well Gravatar comes to the rescue. It allows you to have one account that stores all your avatars!
The only problem is that not many sites support gravatars. I also cannot find a Facebook application that syncs the profile pic with Gravatar. This may be a limitation of the Facebook API…but hopefully it is possible and nobody has bothered to implement it yet (doubt it) in which case I shall take a look into it! Please for the love of god, don’t take my idea
Anyway, back to study *cough*

Gravatar is good, but I thought openID supported pics anyway… I think there was some unrelated reason that stackoverflow uses gravatar instead.
