Well, recently my 1 Terabyte hard-drive decided to fail on me. For some reason, my Ubuntu wouldn’t boot. Originally, I thought that I had corrupted my Ubuntu partition accidentally…magically…somehow as I was on Windows Vista. I was able to boot into a live cd and mount the partition, checked my boot menu, ran some scripts, googled for some help but wasn’t able to get it to boot back up. Well, I wasn’t too fussed, I could always retrieve the files since I could mount the partition. I only had to do a reinstall and everything should be fine. Well, as I was on Vista, I realised something, I had only 3 partitions as opposed to my original 4. Yup, my second hard-drive was missing. I booted into bios, it wasn’t detected. I unplugged it and tried booting into Ubuntu, everything seemed fine. I then tried to replace the cables and try again…nothing.

Most of the content were just movies, lots of wii games, lots of tv shows, made up around 600GB worth. Well, I’m only sad over Stargate, as I can’t watch it now in my spare time. I guess I also have nothing left to seed on private trackers. I’m probably going to get my hard-drive replaced, purchase a new case, cpu heat-sink, case fan and do a format and install Windows 7.

I’ll probably save installing Ubuntu until 9.04 comes out. Yes…I will not be touching linux for 3 months. But meh, hopefully Windows 7 will impress me.

My cousin is also staying over at our place and will continue to do so indefinitely. Our Internet quota is dying…severely. I personally have not been downloading ANYTHING this month yet, our usage is now at 72% after only 14 days. Soon, it’ll be all used up, and I will suffer severely slow speeds. I don’t care…the next time I’m playing dota and my Internet is lagging, I’m going to kick him off the network. I’ll probably have to try and convince my dad to switch to TPG soon. 70GB a month is pretty damn good, except the off peak lasts only 6 hours. But…considering how our currently TOTAL quota is 36GBS, I don’t think we’ll be using it up anytime soon.

I’ve also been trying to unlock as many things as I could in Super Smash Bros Brawl. It’s getting extremely painful and to be honest, I’ve just been using my brother as a slave to do all the repetitive tasks.

I guess that’s it for now. I should probably go and backup my files to be ready for the format. Hopefully nothing goes wrong…fingers crossed.
