Last night I decided to upgrade to WordPress 2.7 RC2…unfortunately…I didn’t backup my DB. For some reason I also had a random table prefix setup. I decided to change the table prefix in the config file…logged into phpmyadmin and renamed all my tables accordingly. Conducted the update and…uh oh…locked out of my wordpress. I realised that one of the rows in a table also contained the table prefix. I removed all references to the table prefix and try again. Better. I was able to log in…but however…I was still unable to use the core update or even the plugin install function. To make matters worse my posts were not assigned to any categories and the tags were missing too.
Today, I checked my webhost and found out that they kept nightly backups 
I restored the database…conducted the wordpress upgrade again and voila! It works!
The only problem was that during the upgrade, some of my posts have been retardified, containing random unicode characters here and there. If ANYBODY notices these random unicode’s please for the love of god tell me.
I’m also going to update my svn repository with some useless…I mean useful scripts. Hopefully I have time to write them

I just bought a pair of Microsoft Lifechat LX-3000 for $18 (RRP $49.95). How you ask? Muwhahahaha, I’ll tell you.

Yesterday, I purchased a LifeCam VX-7000 webcam for $80 off Officeworks (online), after the cash back I’m only paying $40, the RRP is $150. Today I went to Officeworks and bought a pair of Microsoft Lifechat LX-3000 headset, the marked price was $49.95, which is same as the RRP! (Shame on you officeworks). Luckily I brought my MSY brochure and got it for $33. Hehe. The salesperson seems like he’s dealt with this issue before. He let off a sigh and said “It’s MSY”. Haha.
I went onto the Microsoft website and voila, the headset allows a cashback of $15, so in the end I’m getting it for $18.
