I realised I’ve been blogging mainly about “tech” stuff lately. But you know…I can’t really help it. Yes…I am incredibly lame and desperate for digging my blog posts. God help me.

After calling TPG, iinet and Exetel, it seems like we have to swap to Telstra first for our phone lines before they’ll connect us to the ADSL2+ exchange. We called up Telstra and they told us we had to wait 21 days for them to setup the phone lines. 21 days! Is that some sort of joke?! So yes, I have 9 more days before I am no longer capped. 9 more days of using iphone Internet.

I only have 4 weeks left on my scholarship, I was getting worried that I won’t actually complete. I have to write up a report and presentation. I guess this is where my “academia” life begins.

Right now, I’m more interested in getting a phD. If I can get a scholarship that’s three and a half years of paid full-time research, plus opportunities to visit the globe. I would love to visit Japan, Italy, Germany, France, America, England…etc…not necessarily in that order but it would be a great experience. Plus…we can finally have a “Doctor” in the house.

Who said Computer Science can’t take you places?

That said, I’ve yet to learn anything I didn’t know before. I’ve been working with Java for over 2 years now, and to be honest…I feel like I’m only scraping the surface. Hopefully all that will change as time goes on. I’ll become a true online geek. mwuhahahaha.

I’m also considering what to do after my scholarship. My supervisor offered me to work for him once a week during semester but I’ve yet to find out the actual hours or the pay. Otherwise I can always try and get back to Cisco. I’m actually beginning to miss that place. But…at the end of the day though it’s all about the shift-4.
